The standard terms of a Built By Blackwell managed website, written in plain English.
How these terms work
These terms explain the standard Built By Blackwell managed website service. Before the full build begins, we agree your package, scope and any project-specific details in writing. If a written proposal or agreement contains different project-specific terms, those agreed terms take precedence for that project.
Free homepage direction
The free preview is one private homepage direction designed around your business. There is no obligation and no payment details are required for this initial direction. If you want to continue, we agree the package, scope and terms before onboarding and the full private build.
Approval before billing
The full website is built privately and shared with you for review. Billing begins only after you have reviewed and explicitly approved that full build.
Billing
Managed plans are billed monthly only: Essential is £40/month, Growth £70/month and Priority £100/month. Weekly figures shown elsewhere on the site are approximate equivalents, not weekly payment options.
Term and notice
Managed plans have a 6-month minimum term. After the initial term they continue on a rolling basis and you may cancel with 30 days' notice.
Routine updates
Routine updates are small changes to existing content such as prices, opening hours, wording, photographs, testimonials and contact details. Essential includes 1 per month, Growth 2 and Priority 4. Unused routine updates do not roll over.
Work outside the agreed scope
Your website scope is agreed before we build. Major new sections or workflows, significant redesigns after launch, ecommerce, complex booking systems, large content migrations and substantial integrations or bespoke development may be quoted separately. We agree any extra cost before doing work outside the agreed scope.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for supplying accurate business information, providing feedback and approvals in a reasonable time, and confirming that you have the right to use any text, photographs, logos or other material you give us.
If the subscription ends
When the managed subscription ends, the managed website comes offline. You retain your domain, email, logo, photographs and any business content you supplied. Built By Blackwell retains the managed website design and code unless you purchase it separately through an Own Your Website arrangement or another agreed buyout.
Third-party services
Websites may use third-party services for hosting, forms, email, booking, payments or other agreed integrations. We choose and configure services carefully, but their availability and terms are controlled by the relevant provider.
Own-your-website and bespoke work
Projects where you own the website outright start from £1,500 and are quoted individually based on scope and complexity. Bespoke apps and digital tools are also scoped and quoted individually.
Search and visibility
We do not guarantee search rankings, enquiries or sales. Any Search & AI Visibility work covers agreed optimisation and visibility fundamentals, while results also depend on factors outside our control.
