When do I start paying?

Only after the scope is agreed, the full website has been built privately, and you have reviewed and explicitly approved it. The initial private homepage direction is free, and we do not take payment details for it.
What does the free website preview include?
+
It is one private homepage direction designed around your business, brand and goals — enough to show the proposed look and approach. If you like the direction, we agree the package, scope and terms, complete onboarding, and then build the full site privately for your review.
How long am I tied in for?

Managed plans have a 6-month minimum term. After that, they continue on a rolling basis and you can cancel with 30 days' notice.
What happens if I cancel?

When the subscription ends, the managed website comes offline. You keep your domain, email, logo, photographs and any business content you supplied. Built By Blackwell retains the managed website design and code unless you purchase it separately through an Own Your Website arrangement or another agreed buyout.
What counts as a routine update?

A small change to existing content, such as wording, a price, opening hours, an image, a testimonial or contact details. Essential includes 1 per month, Growth 2 and Priority 4. Unused updates do not roll over.
Do unused routine updates roll over?

No. Unused routine content updates do not roll over into future months.
Can I own the website outright instead?

Yes. Own-your-website projects start from £1,500 and are quoted based on scope and complexity.
How am I billed?

Monthly only: Essential is £40/month, Growth £70/month and Priority £100/month. The weekly figures are approximate equivalents to help you compare the cost, not a weekly payment option. Billing starts only after you approve the full private build.
How is the website scope agreed?

We agree your website scope before we build, without a fixed public page limit. If you need something outside the normal scope, such as ecommerce, complex booking, a large content migration or substantial bespoke development, we'll quote it before doing the work.
Do you guarantee I'll rank first on Google?

No, and be wary of anyone who does. Our optional Search & AI Visibility add-on covers the fundamentals properly, but rankings are never guaranteed.
Do you build apps and tools too?

Yes. Bespoke apps and internal digital tools are individually scoped and quoted.
What if none of the three packages fit?

Then we quote you individually. The packages exist to make things simple, not to force a shape on your business.
